Bowden overcame a triple-bogey at the 10th hole thanks to a mistake by his caddy. He finished with his second consecutive three-under 69 and is alone in second at minus-six.

Tom Johnson, Jarrod Lyle and Michael Sim are all five-under par, but have yet to complete their second rounds.

"I hit it fairly well," said Stadler, who won this year's Xerox Classic and Boise Open. "I only had to chip once and it's usually a pretty good score when that happens."

With his two victories, Stadler ranks seventh on the Nationwide Tour money list and is virtually assured a spot on the PGA Tour next year for finishing inside the top-20.

Bowden was cruising along with three birdies on his front nine. When he reached the par-four 10th, Bowden was in the same bunker as playing partner Steve LeBrun. After LeBrun hit his shot, Bowden's caddy raked the area where LeBrun hit which constituted a penalty as testing the area before he played the shot.

Two strokes was the penalty and Bowden fell all the way down to three-under par for the tournament. He tallied birdies at 12, 13 and 15 to move into second.

She is 11-under-par 133 through two rounds at Amata Spring Country Club, which is hosting the first-ever LPGA event in Thailand.

Meanwhile, Castrale is leading for the first time heading into the final round.

Castrale, 27, turned professional in 2001 but hasn't played much on the LPGA Tour. She won back-to-back tournaments on the Futures Tour in 2005 and finished fourth on the money list to earn her exempt status for this year's LPGA season.

Saturday, Castrale successfully negotiated lakes, rivers and considerable elevation change at the challenging par-72 layout to record six birdies and two bogeys.

Castrale was as low as 13-under after draining a 15-foot birdie putt at the 12th, but she stumbled to a pair of tough bogeys at 13 and 16.
